Clippers and Mavericks Face Off in Battle of Western Conference Elite
The Los Angeles Clippers take on the Dallas Mavericks at American Airlines Center on Tuesday night.

The Clippers (12-5) are mostly living up to the preseason hype thus far, although they've notably notched just one win in five tries on the road. They'll come into Tuesday's marquee matchup with a head of steam, courtesy of a six-game winning streak. Their most recent success came against the New Orleans Pelicans, which they toppled by a 134-109 score Sunday night. Montrezl Harrell led the way with 34 points, adding 12 rebounds, two blocks and one assist. Kawhi Leonard followed with 26 points, supplementing them with six assists and four rebounds. Lou Williams followed with 19 points and also recorded four assists and three rebounds. Paul George mustered 18 points, five rebounds, three steals, two assists and one block. Patrick Beverley accounted for 10 points, seven rebounds, four assists and a pair of blocks.

The Clippers will continue to be without Landry Shamet (ankle) for Tuesday's game.

The Mavericks (11-5) have been impressive in their own right, and they'll come into Tuesday with a five-game win steak. Their most recent statement was made Sunday afternoon, when they handled the Houston Rockets by a 137-123 score at Toyota Center. Luka Doncic led the way for Dallas with a 41-point, 10-assist double-double that also included six rebounds, two steals and one block. Tim Hardaway, Jr. poured in 31 points and added five assists, four rebounds and two steals. Kristaps Porzingis supplied a 23-point, 13-rebound double-double that also included three assists, two steals and one block. Dorian Finney-Smith turned in 12 points, 10 rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block. Maxi Kleber led the bench with 11 points.

The Mavericks will list Kleber (knee) as questionable for Tuesday's game.

The teams split the four-game 2018-19 season series. Tuesday's game marks the first of three 2019-20 meetings for Los Angeles and Dallas.

Nuggets Look To Stay Undefeated On Home Stand
The Denver Nuggets play host to the Washington Wizards at Pepsi Center on Tuesday evening.

This marks the fourth and final game of a home stand for the Nuggets (12-3), where they have gone 3-0, with wins over the Rockets, Celtics and Suns. The Nuggets are 7-2 at home and are on a roll, as they have won their last five games in a row. The Nuggets are averaging 106.7 points per game, which is seventh lowest in the league, but they are holding their opponents to a league-low 101.7 points per game. Jamal Murray leads the Nuggets, averaging team highs with 18.9 points and 1.5 steals per game. Nikola Jokic averages team highs with 9.7 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game. Will Barton has been doing a little bit of everything for Denver, averaging 15.4 points, 6.9 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 steals per game.

Meanwhile, this marks the first game of a four-game road trip for the Wizards (5-9), who are 2-5 on the road. The Wizards have won two of their last three contests, but are coming off a loss in their most recent outing. Bradley Beal leads the team with 29.6 points per game, while shooting 47 percent from the field. Beal also averages a team-high 7.1 assists per game. Thomas Bryant has a been solid at the center position, averaging 14.6 points and team highs with 8.8 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game. Davis Bertans has stepped up lately for Washington and is averaging 13.0 points per game, while shooting 44 percent from long range. The Wizards are giving up an average of 120.3 points per game, which is second most in the league, but they are scoring 119.1 points per game, which is also second most in the league.
