2023 Fantasy Outlook
Kyle Allen joins the Bills as Josh Allen's (no relation) backup. The five-year veteran has started 19 games as a pro and his career totals include 26 touchdowns, 4,734 passing yards and a quarterback rating of 82.2. The newcomer started two games for the Texans last year but was rather unspectacular in a pair of losses. At this stage, the 27-year-old is the clear favorite for the second-string signal-caller assignment in Buffalo, but as such will only have fantasy value if Josh Allen misses any time. Lands in Pittsburgh
The Steelers agreed to terms on a contract with Allen on Monday, Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Allen lands in a quarterback room that just brought in new faces Russell Wilson and Justin Fields. Currently, Wilson looks to be the favorite to start, though coach Mike Tomlin has stated that Fields will get opportunities to compete. Allen, meanwhile, looks firmly comfortable as the No. 3 option on the depth chart. He served as the backup to the Bills' Josh Allen in 2023.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Team could trade for upgrade
Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic believes the Bills will trade for an upgrade instead of keeping Allen on the roster in 2023.
ANALYSIS
After Josh Allen led a touchdown drive on Buffalo's first possession in Saturday's preseason finale against the Bears, Kyle Allen played the rest of the game but completed just 18 of 34 passes for 162 yards, with one touchdown and one interception. That erratic performance may not have been enough to convince Buffalo's brass to go with a pair of Allens under center in 2023. Buscaglia notes that the Bills showed interest in trading for former San Francisco quarterback Trey Lance, and he predicts that the team will try to acquire 2022 backup Case Keenum.

2019
Allen's a journeyman quarterback that had mild success in a 13-game run with Carolina in 2019 but has played sparingly since. An ankle injury cut short his 2020 season, and he was a third-stringer for the Commanders in 2021. On board with the Texans for 2022, Allen enters training camp as the backup to Davis Mills, although Houston has two other quarterbacks on the roster. Jeff Driskel returns from last year, and the team signed Kevin Logan after the Titans let him go following the draft. Mills is far from established, which suggests an opportunity for Allen, but the team's plan is to give Mills every chance to succeed. If Mills fails to cement the top QB job or gets injured, Allen is next in line.
