Raptors Host Pistons on Wednesday
The Toronto Raptors play host to the Detroit Pistons at Scotiabank Arena on Wednesday.

The Pistons (2-2) have two wins over the Indiana Pacers and two losses against the Philadelphia 76ers and Atlanta Hawks. That's really all you can ask for with their best player sidelined and reports appear to be good on Blake Griffin. The former All-Star is reportedly ready to go and it's just a matter of getting cleared by the training staff. That will be a welcoming sign for a club without a playmaker, as Derrick Rose has been their best ball-handler early on. He and Andre Drummond have been running things while Luke Kennard has been taking on the scoring load. It's a strange recipe for success but it may be good enough to get them into the playoffs in the East once Griffin returns.

The Raptors (3-1) were expected to regress this season with Kawhi Leonard out of the picture but they look as good as ever. Starting out winning three of your first four games is obviously impressive but they appear to have a new recipe for success. What they're doing is bullying their opponents with their big men. Having Marc Gasol, Pascal Siakam and Serge Ibaka all down low has led to this team leading the league in rebounding. That's big news considering they have some great guards like Kyle Lowry and Fred VanVleet, as this team looks well on their way to another Top-4 finish in the East. One thing to keep an eye on is the depth though, with six players on the roster averaging at least 12 points while no other player has more than 6.0 points per game

Strangely enough, Detroit swept their three-game season series over Toronto last season. Prior to that, the Raptors won their previous six games over the Pistons.
