Samuelson was unavailable for the entire 2023 campaign due to her pregnancy, but she earned a two-year contract with the Fever ahead of the 2024 season. She had one of the best years of her career with the Sparks in 2022, averaging 9.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 29.5 minutes per game over 32 appearances (29 starts). The Fever have several young contributors and will have another young star to add to the fold if they are able to draft Caitlin Clark with the first overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. However, Samuelson should have a chance to compete with Lexie Hull for a starting role this year. Samuelson has bounced around the league over her first few seasons in the WNBA, and she missed the 2023 campaign after giving birth in August. However, she should be back in action for the start of the 2024 season and will attempt to pave her way in Indiana on a multi-year deal. The 26-year-old will likely compete with Lexie Hull for a starting role during training camp, but it wouldn't be surprising to see Samuelson earn a spot in the starting five due to her versatile skill set.
