Youssef Hossam

25-Year-Old
Banned from tennis for life
Suspension
May 4, 2020
Hossam has received a lifetime ban from professional tennis, Stephanie Myles of Tennis.life reports.
ANALYSIS
Hossam's permanent ban follows a provincial suspension handed down last July and relates to multiple instances of match-fixing. The 21-year-old had played in 10 tournaments at the Challenger level, and he even broke into the top 300 in singles for multiple weeks from 2017-18, but he'll now be ineligible to ever compete in another professionally sanctioned tennis event. His older brother, Karim, had also previously been banned for life in July of 2018 under similar circumstances.
