Minella announced Saturday via her personal Twitter page that she plans to retire after Wimbledon.

Minella initially planned to retire from the sport in 2020, but she returned to competition in 2021 and will now play at Wimbledon one more time before calling it a career. The 36-year-old holds a career record of 487-413 in singles play and will look to advance past the second round of a Grand Slam for the first time since 2012.
