Angel Di Maria, ARG v. ISL ($8,900): The decision to pay up for Lionel Messi ($12,700) will have significant ramifications throughout the rest of a fantasy lineup, so it's not as easy plugging him in and slotting in the rest with cheaper players because of who else is available on the slate. There's no denying that Messi has the highest upside, especially against an Iceland team picked to finish last in Group D, so if you decide to fade him, just know that he's likely to be very popular because he's arguably the best player in the world and lining up against a country that only has 300,000 people. I get it. Di Maria comes in with a decent share of set pieces and $3,800 in savings versus Messi, money that can definitely be well spent in other places. If you're looking for the GPP pivot to Messi, it's either Sergio Aguero ($8,700) or Gonzalo Higuain ($7,800) since one of them is expected to lead the line for Argentina.
Victor Moses, NGA v. CRO ($6,500): Moses should be one of the more popular cash forwards Saturday because of his fairly low price and basic monopoly over Nigeria's set pieces. The matchup against Croatia isn't ideal, though it'll at least be easier than their match against Argentina. Nigeria have a few interesting attacking pieces, but the floor play is definitely Moses
