Makdessi withdrew from UFC 241 on Tuesday, John Morgan of MMA Junkie reports.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear why Makdessi was forced to pull out of the fight, but it's on fairly short notice with the bout just over two weeks away. However, despite that, the UFC is actively seeking out a replacement to take on Devonte Smith on Aug. 17 in Anaheim. As of now, Makdessi has no timetable for a return.

Makdessi has been added to the UFC Anaheim card versus Devonte Smith, Marcelo Barone of GloboEsporte.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Makdessi has found a good spot in his MMA career, taking home three straight victories, most recently versus Jesus Pinedo at UFC Fight Night 148. The 34-year-old typically stays upright and Devonte Smith should oblige him in that regard, as the pair have combined for 18 KO/TKOs in their 27 victories and neither owns a win via submission.
Wins slow-paced striking match

Makdessi defeated Jesus Pinedo via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27. 29-28) at UFC Fight Night 148 in Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Perhaps a late opponent change can be blamed for the slow nature of this fight but it seemed as though Makdessi had the upperhand for most of the contest, as his opponent simply backed up and threw the occasional flurry of strikes. We've seen Makdessi use his quick hands and clever striking to win many times before in the Octagon but he did feel Pinedo's power more than once in the contest, which may have made him hesitant to engage. Makdessi improves to 17-6 in professional MMA as a result of the victory.

Makdessi (undisclosed) will face Nasrat Haqparast in a lightweight bout at UFC Nashville on March 23.
ANALYSIS
Makdessi was forced to withdraw from his scheduled fight against Diego Ferreira in December due to an undisclosed injury, but the issue seems to have passed. He'll be looking to extend his winning streak to three fights after beating Abel Trujillo and Ross Pearson by unanimous decision. His opponent, a 23-year-old from Afghanistan, is also coming off a pair of victories.

Makdessi was forced to withdraw from his upcoming fight against Diego Ferreira on Dec. 8 at UFC 231, Nolan King of Flocombat reports.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear why Makdessi was taken off the fight card in Toronto, though it looks like he's dealing with some sort of undisclosed injury. In his place, the promotion tabbed Jesse Ronson to face Ferreira in Toronto.

Makdessi will take on Diego Ferreira in a lightweight matchup at UFC 231 on Dec. 8 in Toronto.
ANALYSIS
Makdessi currently finds himself on the outside looking in with respect to the UFC's lightweight rankings, despite picking up back-to-back wins over Abel Trujillo and Ross Pearson. He'll now turn his sights to Ferreira, a 33-year-old Brazilian that is coming off a win as well, but has fought just once in the last two years. Statistically, Makdessi is typically a good fantasy play due to his striking volume of 5.49 significant strikes landed per minute, which he's been able to maintain despite a 15-fight sample size. The Quebec native also sports a strong 87 percent takedown defense. He'll be a bit undersized in this one, however, conceding an inch of height and six inches of reach to Ferreira.
