Holtzman had the cards stacked against him as a (+170) betting underdog going up against a heavy opponent, and he managed just nine significant strikes before getting slept in the opening round. Dariush was simply the superior fighter both in the clinch and at a distance, so it felt inevitable this stoppage was coming. Holtzman will take home 20 percent of Dariush's purse after his opponent missed weight, but that's just about the only positive takeaway here. While he's an exciting fighter, the ceiling here is limited at 36 years old.
