Gets reduced suspension

Tukhugov had his one-year suspension reduced by 35 days, Marc Raimondi of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Tukhugov and teammate Abubakar Nurmagomedov were both initially suspended for a year and both got the same reduction. The decision helps pieces fall in place for Khabib Nurmagomedov, who is teammates with both, to defend his lightweight title against interim champion Dustin Poirier at UFC 242 on September 7. Khabib stated that he would not take part in a fight until his teammates were no longer suspended, and the reduced sentence means Tukhugov will be cleared by the start of September.

Tukhugov was fined $25,000 and suspended one year Tuesday for his role in the post-fight brawl at UFC 229, Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Tukhugov will be eligible to return to action Oct. 6, as the penalty is backdated to the date of the incident. Teammate Abubakar Nurmagomedov faces an identical punishment, while Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov were handed larger fines but suspended just six months.

Tukhugov's temporary suspension for his role in the post-UFC 229 melee was extended by the Nevada Athletic Commission on Wednesday, Alexander K. Lee of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The NAC will hold a disciplinary hearing in December or January to decide on Tukhugov's potential punishment. "The Warrior" was previously removed from his scheduled bout against Artem Lobov at UFC Moncton and could be in serious jeopardy of losing his spot in the promotion.

Tukhugov was scheduled to face McGregor's teammate Artem Lobov at the end of the month in a UFC bout, but both sides confirmed to ESPN's Ariel Helwani that the fight is off.
ANALYSIS
There was speculation that the fight could be in jeopardy after Tukhugov admitted he entered the octagon in a brawl following UFC 229, and this confirms it. It's unclear when he'll get back to fighting, though there is speculation he could be handed his walking papers. Things should clear up as the UFC investigates the situation further.
Facing potential punishment for role in UFC 229 brawl

Tukhugov admitted via social media that he was one of the three men who entered the Octagon during the UFC 229 post-fight scuffle, Jeff Wagenheim of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The UFC will likely review this case carefully before officially handing out any punishment, but Tukhugov can be described as foolish at best by admitting to his role on social media. He is currently scheduled to fight McGregor's teammate, Artem Lobov, at UFC Moncton on Oct. 27, but that fight could very well be in jeopardy. UFC President Dana White did say after the melee that "The guys who jumped in will never fight here again," implying that both Tukhugov and fellow Nurmagomedov teammate Islam Makhachev would soon be handed their walking papers. Nothing official has came down yet from UFC brass, however, and as of Tuesday afternoon, both Lobov and Tukhugov are listed as the co-main event of the Moncton card on the official UFC website.

Tukhugov will take on Artem Lobov in a featherweight matchup at UFC Moncton on Oct. 27.
ANALYSIS
Tukhugov is fresh off a two-year ban from the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) that resulted from a positive test for the substance ostarine -- which is listed as an anabolic agent and banned in any circumstance by USADA. With the suspension now behind him, Tukhugov will now be tasked with proving how much his 3-1 start with the UFC was PED-assisted. He'll get a chance to do so against Lobov -- a fighter better known for being Conor McGregor's training partner than his actual prowess in the cage. Tukhugov is nearly five years younger than Lobov, and will hold a three-inch reach advantage. He appears to be an exceptional defensive fighter over a short sample size, defending 100 percent of his takedowns and sporting a significantly better striking defense than Lobov. How much, if any, ring rust becomes a factor could be a deciding point in this matchup.
