Lasts 68 seconds in Vegas
WelterweightUFC
July 31, 2021
Stolze lost to Jared Gooden via TKO (punches) at 1:08 of Round 1 at UFC on ESPN 28 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
This bout appeared to be cancelled as recently as this morning due to a COVID-19 protocol breach, but the Nevada Athletic Commission ultimately gave the go ahead to proceed. Stolze lasted all of 68 seconds. Gooden connected with a short right hand that floored Stolze, and the latter was unable to recover. Stolze's UFC run is already on life support after just two bouts with the company. He dropped a decision to Ramazan Emeev in his debut in July 2020 and certainly needs a victory his next time out in order to save his job.

Stolze (12-4-0) will fight Mounir Lazzez (10-2-0) in a welterweight matchup at a UFC Fight Night event on July 31, Farah Hannoun of MMA Junkie reports.
ANALYSIS
Stolze hasn't fought since losing his UFC debut against Ramazan Emeev via unanimous decision back in July. The 28-year-old is best known for his kickboxing ability and will look to get an advantage over his opponent with his legs. Stolze has also never been defeated via knockout, and Lazzez has won 80 percent of his fights by knockout. Something has to give as both fighters look to get back into the win column.
