Handed two-year suspension
FlyweightOther
February 27, 2020
De Padua has been given a two-year suspension due to a failed drug test, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
De Padua's only UFC action to this point came in the form of a loss to Ariane Lipski in November, but she'll now have to wait for the conclusion of her suspension to return to the ring. Because De Padua did not disclose the use of any substances when signing with the UFC, she will reportedly not be eligible for a reduction in sentence.

Drops late-notice UFC debut
FlyweightOther
November 16, 2019
De Padua lost to Ariane Lipski via unanimous decision (26-30, 26-30, 27-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
ANALYSIS
De Padua literally accepted this fight about 48 hours ago, so it's tough to get on her for the poor performance. The UFC needed a replacement for the ill Veronica Macedo and De Padua, who is Brazilian, stepped in to save the bout. The UFC brass tends to look favorably upon fighters willing to step up at the last minute and that should earn De Padua another opportunity with the company. The 28-year-old did land two of her three takedown attempts against Lipski.
Late addition to Sao Paulo card

De Padua will step in on short notice to take on Ariane Lipski at UFC Sao Paulo on Saturday, Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
De Padua lost her professional debut to Luana Carolina back in 2015, but has since compiled five consecutive victories, with her last four coming under the banner of "Standout Fighting Tournament." The 28-year-old will step in to make her debut on just hours' notice, replacing Veronica Macedo, who fell ill shortly before weigh-ins. It comes as little surprise that she missed the flyweight limit by 4.5 pounds, given the short-notice nature of the bout. The fight will still go on, however, with de Padua set to forfeit 30 percent of her fight purse to Lipski.
