Gravely was removed from the UFC roster Monday, according to MMAFighting.com.
ANALYSIS
Gravely completed his latest UFC contract, and the promotion opted not to re-sign him. He entered the UFC with an impressive TKO in Dana White's Contender Series. But since then, inconsistency followed, with Gravely's eight UFC fights turning out four wins and losses each.

Drops tight split decision in Vegas
BantamweightOther
March 11, 2023
Gravely lost to Victor Henry via split decision (27-30, 29-28, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Gravely was more than a competitive in a fight in which both men had their moments, but the judges probably got this one correct. Virtually all of Gravely's success in this fight was the result of his wrestling. He fired off 17 takedown attempts, landing three of them. Tony picked up some control time in each of the first two rounds, but it was Henry who got the better of the striking exchanges at distance. Gravely is better than his 4-4 record in eight UFC fights would lead you to believe, but with back-to-back losses on his resume, Tony will likely need a victory his next time out in order to save his roster spot.
Booked for March 11

Gravely will be hoping to rebound after falling to Javid Basharat by unanimous decision back in September. Gravely now holds a 4-2 record over his last six bouts.
Inconsistent ways continue

Gravely lost to Javid Basharat via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
There's a real case to be made that Gravely didn't deserve a single round, although all three judges gave him one. Not that it matters either way. Gravely's best frame was likely the first, when he landed 2-of-4 takedown attempts, good for 1:12 worth of control time. He failed on all nine of his attempts over the course of the final ten minutes. Toss in the fact he landed just 39 total strikes compared to 106 from Basharat, and it's easy to see how we got here. It's a disappointing result for Tony on the heels of his 68-second knockout win over Johnny Munoz just a few months ago. The soon-to-be 31-year-old falls to 4-2 in his past six fights dating back to November 2020.

ANALYSIS
Gravely is coming off a first round knockout of Johnny Munoz in his last bout back in June. That was his fourth victory in his last five fights with the UFC.
Needs just 68 seconds to secure win
BantamweightOther
June 4, 2022
Gravely defeated Johnny Munoz via KO (punches) at 1:08 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Gravely has been up and down over the course of his UFC run, but his physical gifts have never been in question, as Munoz found out first-hand here. After feeling each other out for the first minute or so, Munoz ducked down and was greeted with a stinging short right hand from Gravely which sent him sprawling to the mat and allowed Tony to to secure the quick stoppage win. Gravely is a big, strong guy with far more stopping power in his hands than a typical bantamweight. His submission defense has been a real problem at times, but he's capable of this type of performance from an offensive standpoint every single time he steps into the Octagon. Don't give up on Gravely just yet.
