Fourth straight defeat
FeatherweightUFC
May 15, 2021
Aguilar lost to Tucker Lutz via unanimous decision (27-30, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC 262 on Saturday in Houston.
ANALYSIS
There is an overwhelming chance this fourth straight defeat will cost Aguilar his job, but he deserves full marks for hanging in there and turning this into a competitive fight. Fighting in his native Texas, Aguilar clearly dropped the first two rounds to Lutz. Recognizing he was behind on the scorecards, Aguilar continuously pushed the pace from the time Round 3 began until the final bell and looked good in the process. Unfortunately for Aguilar, the damage was already done. If this is indeed our final look at the 32-year-old, he ended on a high note.

FeatherweightUFC
March 31, 2021
Aguilar is set to take on Tucker Lutz at UFC 262 on May 15, Aaron Bronsteter of TSN.ca reports.
ANALYSIS
Aguilar currently sits as a featherweight while Lutz checks in as a lightweight, so one of the two fighters looks set to move a weight class within the next month or so. Lutz will be making his UFC debut after having made two appearances on Dana White's Contender Series, while Aguilar is making his return from a medical suspension.

Crushing setback in Vegas

June 13, 2020
Aguilar lost to Charles Rosa via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It's a crushing setback for Aguilar in a fight he had to have. The judge's appeared to get this one correct, and that's highly concerning for Aguilar considering he was going up against a below-average striker in a fight that was primarily contested in the stand up. Aguilar got off to a quick start before fading over the course of the final ten minutes. Hit output on the feet was low, and he appeared confused and hesitant to pull the trigger. A former product of Dana White's Contender Series, Aguilar began his UFC run with a pair of unanimous decision wins but has dropped three in a row since.
Fighting Rosa on June 13

June 4, 2020
Aguilar is scheduled to fight Charles Rosa in a featherweight match at the UFC's June 13 event, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Aguilar is coming off back-to-back losses, with his most recent defeat having come against Zubaira Tukhugov in Round 1 at UFC Fight Night 168 in Auckland, New Zealand. The 31-year-old will be at a two-inch height disadvantage come June, but he'll have room to make up for it via his superior reach.
Gets dropped and finished in loss
FeatherweightUFC
February 22, 2020
Aguilar lost to Zubaira Tukhugov via TKO (punches) at 3:21 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night 168 in Auckland, New Zealand on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Aguilar has been notoriously hard to hurt in his MMA career, but that meant nothing to Tukhugov, who pounced on "The Angel of Death" after landing a huge hook early. While his style of power counterpunching has served Aguilar well in the past, it just allowed Tukuhugov too much time to measure and land the strike. After nice wins in his first two UFC fights, Aguilar has now lost two in a row, which may call into question his extreme countering style. He falls to 17-3 in professional MMA as a result of the loss.
