Drops decision in Rio Rancho
February 15, 2020
Romero Borella lost to Montana de la Rosa via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC Rio Rancho on Saturday.
Romero Borella could have taken the first round after registering a takedown and winning both the total and significant striking battles, but it was a tight frame nonetheless. De la Rosa appeared to pull ahead in the second, taking a clear lead in control time and threatening with multiple submissions. Romero Borella started to get her striking going in the third, but was met with a stiff right hand that sent her to the canvas. De la Rosa ended up in top position and essentially rode it out from there.

Suffers tough loss to Lauren Murphy
August 3, 2019
Romero Borella lost to Lauren Murphy via TKO (strikes) at 1:46 of Round 3 at UFC on ESPN 5 on Saturday in Newark, New Jersey.
It's a crushing result for the Brazilian in a fight she may have very well been winning heading into Round 3. She was the more effective fighter on the feet in Round 1, and landed the only successful takedown of the fight in Round 2. Unfortunately for Romero Borella, she went for another takedown early in the final frame and Murphy responded with a perfectly placed knee that essentially ended the fight then and there. The 33-year-old has now alternated wins and losses in her first four UFC bout.

Wins uneventful split decision in Brazil
February 2, 2019
Romero Borella defeated Taila Santos via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on ESPN+ on Saturday in Brazil.
Borella fought off an early rear-naked choke, when Santos was in the backpack position, and got a takedown of her own. She spent the rest of the round in top position and landed good ground and pound. In the second round Borella continued her strategy of closing the distance and fighting from the clinch. It was not a fan friendly strategy, but proved effective as Santos could not disengage to implement her striking. In the third Borella had trouble closing the distance and was hit with a lot of jabs. She lost the third round on all scorecards but her strategy paid off and got her the split decision victory.
