No longer fighting in Cage Warriors 113
March 18, 2020
Phillips' (22-9-0, 1 NC) scheduled middleweight fight Friday with Dusko Todorovic (9-0-0) at Cage Warriors 113 has been cancelled, Simon Head of USA Today reports.
The Phillips-Todorovic fight was a late addition to the Cage Warriors 113 card after the two were previously scheduled to face off in the UFC London event that has since been cancelled. Though Cage Warriors 113 will still be held after moving from London to Manchester, travel restrictions amid the coronavirus outbreak will prevent Phillips and Todorovic from taking part.

Facing Todorovic in Cage Warriors fight
March 16, 2020
Phillips (22-9-0, 1 NC), who had previously been scheduled to fight Dusko Todorovic (9-0-0) on Saturday at UFC London, will instead face the Serbian as part of the Cage Warriors promotion Friday, Simon Head of USA Today reports.
The UFC cancelled its event in London due to concerns about the coronavirus, but Cage Warriors 113 will still be held in the city this weekend, though as a closed-doors event in advance of the United Kingdom's expected banishment of mass gatherings. Since Phillips and Todorovic were already en route to London before the UFC event's cancellation, the two fighters received clearance to join the Cage Warriors promotion in what looks to be a one-time arrangement.
Not competing in London
March 15, 2020
Phillips will no longer face Dusko Todorovic on Saturday following the relocation of UFC London, reports.
The UFC will be relocating the weekend's event, per an official statement, which leaves fighters like Phillips unable to secure travel plans on short notice, especially given the recently-imposed restrictions to combat the spread of COVID-19. The announcement was also confirmed by SBG Ireland head coach John Kavanagh via his personal Twitter account. It's unclear if this matchup will be rescheduled for a later date.
Added to UFC London card
December 23, 2019
Phillips (22-9-0, 1 NC) will take on Dusko Todorovic in a middleweight matchup at UFC London on March 21, reports.
Phillips is coming off an impressive win over Alen Amedovski via KO (punches) at UFC Copenhagen in September that allowed him to continue his run with the promotion, but he could have his hands full with Todorovic. Todorovic will make his UFC debut after earning a contract at Dana White's Contender Series in August with a win over Teddy Ash via unanimous decision. Despite his inability to get the finish, he was effective in the clinch game and showed good head movement and stamina. Phillips has a slight advantage in reach, while Todorovic carries a height advantage.
Quick day at the office
September 29, 2019
Phillips defeated Alen Amedovski via KO (punches) at 0:17 of Round 1 at UFC Copenhagen on Saturday.
Both men came out swinging with little regard for defense, and it was Phillips that landed first, registering the third-fastest knockout in UFC middleweight history. This fight didn't show us much about the future prospects for Phillips, but it snapped a three-fight losing streak, earned him a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus and likely bought him at least one more fight with the company.
New opponent booked
July 16, 2019
Phillips will take on Alen Amedovski in a middleweight matchup at UFC Copenhagen on Sept. 28.
Phillips was scheduled to face Karl Roberson last weekend on the Sacramento card, but was forced to withdraw late due to undisclosed reasons. He'll now get what could be his final shot with the company, facing an 0-1 fighter in Amendovski that dropped his debut to Krzystof Jotko in April. Phillips entered the UFC with a 21-6 pro record, but has dropped each of his three fights to date. While his last matchup -- a split decision loss to Jack Marshman -- was a slightly better performance, Phillips has yet to record a takedown in the UFC, while absorbing nearly double the amount of significant strikes he has landed. This overseas matchup could be the 34-year-old's final opportunity to show he deserves a roster spot.
