Rolls over Randa Markos
March 14, 2020
Ribas defeated Randa Markos via unanimous decision (30-26, 30-25, 30-25) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Brasilia, Brazil.
Originally scheduled to face Paige VanZant, Ribas completely dominated her late-notice opponent change in Markos. This was the rare fight in which a score of 30-25 appeared to be totally justified. Ribas finished with a ridiculous 173-56 edge in total strikes landed in addition to all the mat control time she racked up. Her big, physical frame easily overwhelmed an opponent in Markos with little defensive ability. Three fights into her UFC career, Ribas looks legit. In addition to rolling over Markos, the Brazilian also took a decision from Mackenzie Dern and submitted Emily Whitmire. A step up in competition is coming. Perhaps the UFC will look to re-book the VanZant fight whenever PVZ is ready to return from yet another arm injury.

Gets new opponent
January 23, 2020
Ribas will now take on Randa Markos in a strawweight matchup at UFC Brasilia on March 14.
Ribas had initially agreed to take on Paige VanZant (arm), but she apparently won't be ready to make her return to the Octagon after suffering multiple arm injuries that have left her sidelined since January of 2018. Ribas is coming off back-to-back wins, most recently defeating Mackenzie Dern via unanimous decision at UFC Tampa in October. Markos defeated Ashley Yoder via split decision at UFC Singapore in October after dominating the striking battle in that matchup. The two fighters are even in height while Ribas has a slight reach advantage.
Agrees to fight VanZant

Ribas has agreed to take on Paige VanZant at UFC Brazil on March 14, Guilherme Cruz of reports.
Ribas is coming off a victory over Mackenzie Dern in October at UFC Tampa. The Brazilian will welcome Vanzlant, who has not fought since January of 2018 due to multiple arm injuries, back to the strawweight division. While contracts have yet to be signed, both fighters have agreed to the contest.
Hands Mackenzie Dern first loss
October 12, 2019
Ribas defeated Mackenzie Dern via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Tampa.
Ribas recognized Dern's greatest - and perhaps only -- weakness, and exploited it. She stuffed all six of Dern's takedowns attempts and smashed her on the feet. Ribas knew going in that she would have a significant advantage if this turned into a kickboxing match and that turned out to be exactly the case. Ribas rarely gets talked about at 115 pounds, but she turned just 26 years of age in August and she's legitimately talented. She can win a fight on the feet or on the mat and she is continuously improving. Dern entered this one as the bigger name, but there's zero doubt who the better fighter is. Keep an eye on Ribas.
Set to face Mackenzie Dern in October
July 29, 2019
Ribas will face Mackenzie Dern in a strawweight bout at a UFC Fight Night event October 12, Brett Okamoto of ESPN reports.
Ribas looked very impressive in her UFC debut, scoring a submission victory in the second round back in June. She has a tough draw in her opponent, Dern, who's 7-0 in her MMA career, but has been out the last year to give birth to her daughter. Dern also has a history of problematic weight cuts, so be sure to tune in to weigh-ins if you plan on using either fighter in fantasy lineups.
Puts strawweights on notice
June 29, 2019
Ribas defeated Emily Whitmire via submission (rear-naked choke) at 2:10 of Round 2 at UFC Minneapolis on Saturday.
It's been a long road to the UFC for Ribas, who was signed in May of 2017 but had her career immediately derailed by a USADA suspension that was later reduced due to the discovery of a tainted supplement. Fast forward more than two years, and Ribas essentially dominated a fighter on a two-fight UFC winning streak. She was comfortable throwing hands early, and took the back of Whitmire in the first-round. While she wasn't able to take her neck at that point, it didn't take long into the second round for the Brazilian to go back to work on the ground. She locked in the RNC and ended up securing a victory where she absorbed only seven significant strikes. After the long layoff, it's reasonable to expect a quick turnaround as Ribas looks to make up for lost time.
