Gina Mazany
Time with UFC ends
January 24, 2020
Mazany will no longer fight under the UFC banner, Nolan King of reports.
King notes that it's not clear if her contract with UFC simply ran out, or if she was released, but either way this result was expected after Mazany went just 1-3 while with UFC and hardly seemed capable of handling that level of competition. She plans to continue fighting with King of the Cage.

Struggles continue against Macy Chiasson
March 2, 2019
Mazany lost to Macy Chiasson via TKO (strikes) at 1:49 of Round 2 at UFC 235 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
Mazany isn't a UFC-caliber fighter and this dreadful effort was further evidence of that. Her defense is particularly poor and she has been overwhelmed every single time she has been tasked with facing someone halfway decent. Chiasson peppered her early and often and the 30-year-old had zero response. Now 1-3 in her UFC career, Mazany could very easily be handed her walking papers.
Matched against Macy Chiasson
December 24, 2018
Mazany will take on Macy Chiasson in a bantamweight bought at UFC 235 on March 2, Adam Hill of the Las Vegas Review Journal reports.
The 30-year-old has a 5-2 record as a professional but has lost two of her three fights since joining the UFC. She was most recently defeated by unanimous decision by Lina Lansberg at UFC Fight Night 130 in May. Her opponent, the 27-year-old Mazany, is coming off a victory over Pannie Kianzad at The Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale in November.
Loses unanimous decision in Liverpool
May 27, 2018
Mazany was defeated by Lina Lansberg via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Sunday in Liverpool.
Mazany did not have an answer for Lansberg's pressure up against the fence. She was constantly pressed up against the fence in the first round. Even though Lansberg didn't do much damage, she controlled the fight for the first round. In the second round much of the same took place, except the referee broke up the clinch for inactivity on two occasions. Even when the fight was at striking range Mazany was at a disadvantage and took some elbows. She also absorbed many knees to the body towards the end of the round. In between rounds she told her corner she may throw up, and her corner placed a bucket in front of her. It was obvious "Danger" was exhausted going into the third round and she was unable to escape the clinch against the fence in the third round which led to her defeat.
Given long medical suspension after Shanghai
November 30, 2017
Mazany received a 180-day medical suspension by the UFC following her UFC Fight Night victory over Wu Yanan on Saturday, reports.
Mazany came away with the unanimous decision over Yanan. She landed all her takedowns and crushed Wu with some serious ground and pound. However, on her way to the win, Mazany sustained a potential left toe injury and was given an extended medical suspension from the UFC as a result. She can rejoin active competition sooner if cleared by a physician.
Showcases ground and pound in unanimous decision victory
November 26, 2017
Mazany defeated Wu Yanan via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night: Shanghai on Saturday.
Mazany showcased her ground and pound in this fight. She was successful on all three of her takedown attempts, and pummeled the debuting Yanan on the ground. After suffering a small cut early, Mazany landed a takedown and rained down strong ground and pound on the Chinese fighter. Toward the end of Round 2, Mazany seemed to dislocate "Mulan's" shoulder with a whizzer while defending a takedown. After the injury, Mazany dominated the third round and landed brutal elbows from side control. It was an impressive performance by "Danger."
