Turner has agreed to a new four-fight deal with the UFC, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Turner agrees to this deal fresh off a second-round TKO victory over Josh Culibao at UFC Auckland. It was his first victory in three UFC fights. He will now look to carry that momentum into his first of at least four more bouts in the UFC's octagon.

Opponent injury clears way to win
LightweightUFC
February 22, 2020
Turner defeated Josh Culibao via TKO (punches) at 3:01 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night 168 in Auckland, New Zealand on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Turner was doing well keeping Culibao at range and bullying him with strength, but that all became moot in Round 2, after what looked like a twisted ankle allowed Turner to have his way with his opponent. Culibao was taken down and pounded on until the referee had seen enough. It may not be the ending Turner wanted, but he should be all too happy to take a victory after going 1-2 in his first three UFC fights. He improves to 9-5 in professional MMA overall as a result of the win.
Now facing Josh Culibao
LightweightUFC
February 5, 2020
Turner will take on Josh Culibao in Auckland on Feb. 22, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Turner had been scheduled to fight Jamie Mullarkey, but Mullarkey was forced to withdraw with an undisclosed injury. In Culibao, he'll be facing a fighter making his UFC debut. The 25-year-old hasn't lost any of his eight professional fights.
Needs new opponent at UFC Auckland
LightweightUFC
January 29, 2020
Turner requires a new opponent for UFC Auckland on Feb. 23 with Jamie Mullarkey (undisclosed) having withdrawn due to injury, John Morgan of MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Turner was set to take on Mullarkey in a lightweight contest, but event promoters will now need to schedule a new opponent for him. It remains to be seen who Turner will ultimately face at UFC Auckland, but in any case the 24-year-old appears to have recovered from the right knee injury he sustained at UFC 236 in April. He'll look to make use of his impressive power and frame against his next opponent.
Returning to Octagon
LightweightUFC
December 26, 2019
Turner (knee) will take on Jamie Mullarkey in a lightweight matchup at UFC Auckland on Feb. 23, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Turner lost to Matt Frevola via unanimous decision at UFC 236 in April and suffered a right knee injury during the fight that resulted in a 180-day medical suspension. The 24-year-old was beaten handily against Frevola as he was taken down four times despite his advantage on the feet. Turner needs to work on his overall game if he wants to remain competitive with the company, but he will get a chance to prove himself against Mullarkey. Mullarkey lost his UFC debut against Brad Riddell via unanimous decision at UFC 243 in October, but he showed elite toughness despite his struggles to do much damage on the feet. Turner carries a significant height advantage, but he will have his hands full as a result of the toughness Mullarkey showed during his debut.
Possible knee injury after loss
LightweightUFC
April 16, 2019
Turner has been suspended 180 days by the Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission pending a physician's clearance of a right knee injury, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Turner has shown flashes of potential, but he was beaten handily by a smaller opponent Saturday night. Along the way, Matt Frevola was able to take him down four times, and Turner did not have an answer for his ground game. It's unclear at what point the knee injury was sustained, but Turner will need to have that cleared if he intends to take the Octagon again prior to October.
