No-shows loss in Vegas
BantamweightUFC
April 23, 2022
Else lost to Aori Qileng via TKO (punches) at 2:48 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
On the sidelines since October 2020, Else looked no better in this one than he did in his UFC debut, a second-round knockout defeat at the hands of Kyler Phillips. Else ate a brutal body shot from Aori, which forced him to the mat and allowed his opponent to take control of the fight and connect with countless unanswered blows. Referee Keith Peterson allowed the bout to continue far too long before finally pulling the plug. It's far from a guarantee Else gets a third opportunity with the company considering how poor he looked in his first two attempts. There simply isn't much here.

Else will face Aori Qileng on April 23, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.

Both fighters are searching for their first UFC victory. Else suffered a second-round TKO defeat against Kyler Phillips in his debut back in October of 2020 and hasn't fought since then, as he withdrew from a July fight against Aaron Phillips for undisclosed reasons. Aoriqileng has fought twice under the UFC banner, dropping a pair of unanimous decisions.
Out of Phillips fight
BantamweightUFC
July 15, 2021
Else will no longer take on Aaron Phillips at the UFC event July 24, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It's not clear why Else was forced to withdraw from this bantamweight bout. Else had won his previous six fights before dropping his last bout on Oct. 3 to Kyler Phillips via TKO. Else's opponent for the upcoming July 24 event will now take on Trevin Jones.
Booked for July fight
BantamweightUFC
April 16, 2021
Else (10-5-0) will fight Aaron Phillips (12-4-0) at a UFC event on July 24, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
ANALYSIS
Else was on a six-fight win streak before dropping his UFC debut to Kyler Phillips via TKO (punches) in Round 2 of a UFC Fight Night on Oct. 3. The 29-year-old has won six of his fights via TKO and the other four via submission, as he'll be in search of his first promotional victory against Phillips in about three month's time.
Falls in short-notice debut
BantamweightUFC
October 3, 2020
Else lost to Kyler Phillips via TKO (punches) at 0:44 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
ANALYSIS
Else came out looking composed in his short-notice debut, but his lead leg was getting picked apart early. He avoided some of the theatric shots from "The Matrix," but the tide turned when he was taken down roughly three minutes in. He was able to hold of Phillips for a bit with upkicks, but Phillips eventually got on top, passed to side control and took his back. Else spent the rest of the round eating ground-and-pound and was nearly finished in the final seconds. He didn't last long after the opening bell of Round 2, as Phillips quickly used a body lock to drag him back down to the ground. Else gave up his back shortly thereafter, and Phillips poured on the ground strikes once again. Else curled up and offered little defense, forcing the referee to step in. He'll likely get another chance given his willingness to step in on short notice, even though he didn't offer much competition here.
Set for UFC debut
BantamweightUFC
September 28, 2020
Else will take on Kyler Phillips in a bantamweight matchup scheduled for Oct. 3 on Fight Island, Nolan King of MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Else has one appearance under the Bellator banner (a first-round stoppage over Dylan Tuke) and has since put together six wins in a row across various regional promotions. He'll enter as approximately a (+340) betting underdog against Phillips, who won his UFC debut against Gabriel Silva in February and is an alumni of both Dana White's Contender Series (2017) and The Ultimate Fighter (2018). Else will be forced to take this fight on just over a week's notice following the late withdrawal of Danaa Batgerel (undisclosed).
