Could draw in for Game 2
LWChicago Blackhawks  Free Agent
August 3, 2020
Per Mark Lazerus of The Athletic, coach Jeremy Colliton has yet to disclose who will enter the lineup in place of the suspended Drake Caggiula for Game 2 against the Oilers, but Sikura is one of the likely candidates.
ANALYSIS
Sikura only appeared in nine games with the big club during the regular season, notching three points over that span, but he played well in the minors, racking up 14 goals and 19 helpers in 45 AHL appearances. If he does draw into the lineup Monday against Edmonton, he'll likely skate on the third line.

Sikura has struggled to stick in the NHL, posting 14 points in 47 games with the Blackhawks over the last three years. The Blackhawks traded Sikura to Vegas for Brandon Pirri in the offseason. A deeper forward group in Vegas will likely keep Sikura out of the lineup again in 2020-21, but he could be a solid choice for the taxi squad. Sikura had 33 points in 45 games for AHL Rockford last year -- the 25-year-old forward has a decent track record in the minors, but it's unclear if he'll be able to upgrade to a more regular NHL role. There's no need for fantasy managers to roster him.
Sikura struggled in limited action with the Blackhawks last season, failing to score a goal while notching eight assists in 33 contests, but he was far more productive in the minors, racking up 17 goals and 35 points in 46 appearances. The Northeastern University product inked a two-year extension with Chicago in June, so the 'Hawks clearly haven't given up on him yet, but he'll likely once again spend the majority of the 2019-20 campaign with AHL Rockford. He'll be a candidate for a full-time, bottom-six role with the big club in 2020-21, but it remains to be seen if he'll ever achieve fantasy relevancy at the highest level. Sikura may be worth a waiver claim if he earns an extended stay with the Blackhawks this season and begins to produce, but there's no reason to spend a pick on him in re-draft leagues this year.
Sikura spent the majority of the 2017-18 campaign finishing up his collegiate career with Northeastern University in impressive fashion, racking up 22 goals and 54 points in just 35 games en route to a nomination as a Hobey Baker Award finalist. Following his senior season, the young forward signed his entry-level deal with Chicago, and managed to pick up three assists in the final five games of the season with the big club. At 23 years old, Sikura is poised to immediately step into a prominent role with the Blackhawks in 2018-19, and he should get top-six minutes and looks on the power play right out of the gate. The 2014 sixth-round pick is still entirely unproven, but he'll be worth a look in the later rounds of fantasy drafts this season as a high-upside, low-risk selection.
