Latest Fantasy Rumors
Unlikely to play Thursday
Motte, who is dealing with an upper-body injury, is doubtful to face Montreal on Thursday after the Rangers recalled Jonny Brodzinski from the minors, Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
THe Rangers have been hard against the cap after bringing in Patrick Kane and would have needed an emergency recall to bring up Brodzinski, indicating that Motte won't be ready to return in time to face the Habs. The 27-year-old Motte has just one point in his last 15 contests, along with 14 shots, so fantasy players shouldn't be expecting much in the way of offensive production out of him moving forward.

Motte began last season with Vancouver before a trade deadline move to the Rangers. He was injured early in his tenure with his new club and missed well over a month before returning for New York's final 15 postseason games. Motte entered free agency this offseason, ultimately inking a one-year, $1.35 million deal with Ottawa late in the summer. It's a move that won't impact fantasy squads considering Motte has never posted more than 16 points in any one season, but he's an ideal bottom-six depth player who should help the Senators win hockey games in 2022-23.
