Saarijarvi was traded from the Coyotes to the Blackhawks on Tuesday in exchange for a third-round pick in 2025 via the Rangers.
ANALYSIS
Saarijarvi's NHL rights changed hands as part of the larger deal that made Patrick Kane a Ranger. Saarijarvi has 33 points in 49 games with SCL Tigers of the Swiss National League. At 25 years old, it's unlikely he'll receive a look in the NHL at any time in the near future.

2018 Fantasy Outlook
Saarijarvi shouldn't be defined by his small stature at 5-foot-10, 165 pounds. The Finn blitzed through the OHL circuit between Flint and Mississauga from 2015-17, amassing 23 goals and 51 assists over 93 games, and only six months after Detroit drafted him (2015 third round, 73rd overall), he earned a gold medal at the U20 World Junior Championship in his home country. Last year, Saarijarvi registered 11 assists in 42 appearances with AHL Grand Rapids, but he failed to score and even played in the ECHL for 10 games. Still, Saarijarvi has a rocket for a shot and is capable of directing a power play, so he'll be worth watching if only he can separate himself from the likes of Libor Sulak and Filip Hronek -- a pair of prospects knocking on that same door for playing time in Detroit.
