FantasyDraft NHL: Tuesday Values

FantasyDraft NHL: Tuesday Values

This article is part of our FantasyDraft NHL series.

If you aren't completely absorbed by the World Series, there are 11 NHL games Tuesday, which provides a lot of options for your daily fantasy lineups. To help you cut through the clutter, here are some players to target…

GOALIE

Nashville Predators, NAS vs. CGY ($15,900): The Predators have only allowed 28.3 shots on net per game, tied for fewest in the NHL. When pucks have gotten through to Pekka Rinne, he's been up to the task, posting a .932 save percentage. The Flames, meanwhile, have only scored 2.50 goals per game, and the fact the Predators are at home is certainly a point in Nashville's favor.

CENTER

John Tavares, NYI vs. ARI ($14,000): Tavares has been outstanding offensively since he was a rookie, and he's never had fewer than 16 power-play points in a season. That came in a year where he only played 48 games, to boot. The Coyotes had the 27th-ranked penalty kill last year, so that could work out well for Tavares. On top of that, Arizona has allowed a whopping 4.25 goals per game.

Dylan Larkin, DET at BUF ($10,700): The Wings have given Larkin a bigger role this year, as he's averaged 19:05 per game. He only has one goal, but he's added eight assists to the mix. The Sabres have allowed 3.89 goals per contest and given up 32.1 shots on net per game. Last year, Buffalo gave up 34.3 shots on goal per tilt, the most in the NHL.

WING

Brandon Saad, CHI at VGK ($13,500): Vegas has allowed 34.1 shots on net per contest. Now, both Marc-Andre Fleury and Malcolm Subban are hurt, which means the Knights are down to their third-string goalie. It almost doesn't matter what Saad has done this year (but he has six goals on 28 shots, in case you were curious).

Anders Lee, NYI vs. ARI ($10,300): Lee plays on Tavares' wing, and he's started 60.0 percent of his shifts in the offense zone, second on the Islanders only to linemate Jordan Eberle. Playing next to Tavares helped Lee score 34 goals last year, and he has five through eight games this season. Arizona ceded 3.15 goals and 34.1 shots on net per game last season.

Brock Boeser, VAN at MIN ($8,200): The Wild got off to a hot start defensively last season, but after the All-Star break they allowed 2.94 goals per game. Those struggles have continued into the new year, as Minnesota has given up 3.50 goals and 35.5 shots on net per contest. Boeser showed promise in limited action last season, and this year the 20-year-old has built on that with six points in six games.

DEFENSEMEN

Shea Weber, MON vs. FLA ($10,900): The Canadiens are off to a slow start, but Weber has 21 shots on goal and 20 blocked shots in eight games, and he's averaged 4:36 on the power play. Montreal may right the ship in this game, because the Panthers have allowed 3.57 goals and 36.4 shots on net this year. Weber's price has dropped a bit due to Montreal's woes, but that makes this a rare buy-low opportunity on him.

Brent Seabrook, CHI at VGK ($9,000): As previously noted, Vegas is down to their third-string goalie Oscar Dansk, who has only played part of a single NHL game. He's an unknown quantity, but it's probably fair to think that the third-string goalie of an expansion team is unlikely to be amazing. Seabrook has five points, including two on the power play, and he's tallied at least 14 power-play points in his last three campaigns.
