FanDuel NHL: Sunday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Sunday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

Goalie

Connor Hellebuyck, WPG vs PIT ($7,800): In his last game, Hellebuyck suffered a tough-luck loss to the same Penguins team in overtime. Hellebuyck's production has been steady all season as he has posted 19.2, 19.2, 30.4, 28, and 33.6 FanDuel points in his last five games while earning four wins, a 2.25 GAA and .931 save percentage.

Center

Bryan Little, WPG vs PIT ($4,800): The Jets are a much better team at home, and Little is still too cheap considering his ice time and scoring-line/power-play role.

Jordan Staal, CAR vs ANH ($5,000): The Ducks have shown some defensive lapses up the middle without Ryan Kesler, as well as Ryan Getzlaf missing the beginning of the season. Add that Patrick Eaves and Cam Fowler are also both sidelined and Staal is priced well in a good situation.

Wing

Kyle Connor, WPG vs PIT ($3,500): If you want a young forward to produce, putting him on a line with Mark Scheifele and Blake Wheeler isn't a bad idea. That's what the Jets have done with Connor, who has a goal, assist and five shots in three games. He's priced well.

Matthew Tkachuk, CGY vs WAS ($4,900): Tkachuk has been skating very well in recent games and it's now showing on the scoresheet. He has one goal, two assists, and 11 shots on goal in his last three games. The Capitals are playing the second of back-to-back games.

Bryan Rust, PIT at WPG ($4,600): Rust skates on the second line with Evgeni Malkin and Phil Kessel and sees some action on the power play. Though he has just one goal, Rust has pitched in eight assists. He averages almost two shots per game and 16 minutes of ice time, making him a solid value option.

Defense

Jacob Trouba, WPG vs PIT ($4,400): Trouba is in a good matchup against the Penguins, who are at the top in the league in allowing fantasy points to defensemen. Trouba blocks shots, gets pucks to the net, and logs a good amount of minutes — he offers a solid floor at a great value.

Jaccob Slavin, CAR vs ANH ($4,400): The Hurricanes may have the best young defense core in the NHL and Slavin is a huge part of that. He averages almost 24 minutes of ice time and has two goals, one assist, 19 shots on goal, and 20 blocked shots. His partner, Brett Pesce, is another option to consider at an even cheaper salary, but he doesn't have the offensive upside that Slavin offers.
