Compton will be competing for the starting job at right guard heading into the 2020 season, Keiana Martin of the 49ers' official site reports.

The 31-year-old has experience across the offensive line, but right guard looks to be Compton's primary avenue to reps following the release of veteran Mike Person. Daniel Brunskill appeared in 14 games (seven starts) in 2019 and should also be in competition for the job. Compton also appeared in 14 games (five starts) last season with the Jets before landing on injured reserve in December with a calf issue.
