The Texans signed Dantzler on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
The Texans are Dantzler's third team since he was cut by the Vikings back in March. He spent parts of the offseason with the Commanders and Bills. Buffalo cut him from injured reserve with an injury settlement earlier this summer. Now healthy, Dantzler will look to compete for a depth job in Houston's secondary.

Meets virtually with Pats

April 14, 2020
Dantzler had a virtual meeting with the Patriots and 15 other teams last week and could be a target in the third round, Doug Kyed of NESN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The 21-year-old ran a 4.64-second 40-yard dash and had a 34.5-inch vertical leap at the NFL Combine in February, but he apparently had a much -improved 4.38 40-yard time at his pro day. Dantzler totaled 108 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 20 passes defensed and five interceptions in 31 games during his three years at Mississippi State.

Past Fantasy Outlooks

2021
2020
Dantzler looks set to start at cornerback but will compete with second-round draft pick Andrew Booth Jr. in training camp for a role opposite Patrick Peterson.
A 2020 third-round pick, Dantzler impressed in his rookie season, as he was Pro Football Focus' 28th-ranked cornerback, racking up 46 tackles, two interceptions, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. He started 10 of his 11 appearances, but he also missed time due to rib and hamstring injuries as well as a concussion. Assuming he fends off Mackensie Alexander, Dantzler will be part of the No. 1 defense opposite Patrick Peterson in 2021.
Dantzler was selected by the Vikings with the 89th overall pick in April's draft, and he couldn't have landed in a much better spot to have an immediate impact. Xavier Rhodes, Trae Waynes and Mackensie Alexander led Minnesota's cornerbacks in snaps last season, and all three are now with other teams. Mike Hughes and rookie first-round pick Jeff Gladney are expected to start in 2020, while Dantzler should have every opportunity to secure the role of No. 3 corner in training camp.
