2023 Fantasy Outlook
An ACL tear in Week 3 ended Guyton's 2022 campaign prematurely, but the speedy target had already lost significant ground in the receiving corps depth chart with the emergence of second-year target Joshua Palmer. The 25-year-old re-signed with the Chargers in April and is expected to provide depth behind a solid trio of returnees (Keenan Allen, Mike Williams and Palmer). Also in the Chargers' wideout equation are a pair of talented rookies in first-rounder Quentin Johnston, as well as Derius Davis, a fourth-rounder who could compete for the speed-relevant packages Guyton would normally factor into. Coach's Decision
January 7, 2024
Guyton (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
Guyton didn't play the first eight weeks of the season while on the PUP list with a knee injury. He returned and didn't log any catches Week 9 but then turned some heads the following week when he caught four passes for 41 yards and a touchdown. It's been a rough time for Guyton since then, however, as he's failed to record more than two receptions or 19 yards in any of his subsequent six games even with the team's top wideout, Keenan Allen (heel), missing half of those matchups. It remains to be seen where Guyton fits into the team's future plans, but he'll finished his fifth NFL campaign with disappointing totals of 10 catches on 21 targets for 89 yards and a touchdown.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
May have expanded role Thursday
WRLos Angeles Chargers
December 14, 2023
Guyton could be due for an expanded role in Thursday's Week 15 matchup against the Raiders with Keenan Allen ruled out due to a heel injury.
ANALYSIS
Despite his experience and serviceable body of work over a couple of previous seasons with the Chargers, Guyton has been mostly quiet since making his delayed season debut in Week 9 against the Jets after completing his recovery from a torn ACL suffered in Week 3 of the 2022 campaign. Guyton has logged 17 targets over his first five games, but he's only parlayed those into a 7-58-1 line. However, Thursday night could be a different story, considering Allen's absence and the fact Guyton could at least rotate into some No. 3 receiver snaps alongside Alex Erickson.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2022
2021
Guyton began to pick up steam toward end the 2021 season, as the speedster registered three games with 50 or more receiving yards over his final five contests. However, it's worth noting that injuries to Keenan Allen and Mike Williams plus favorable game scripts created most of the positive turnaround. If not for that stretch, Guyton's second season as the Chargers' No. 3 wideout would have been a quiet one, as Joe Lombardi's offense seemingly phased out the 24-year-old for more multi-TE sets. Meanwhile, 2021 third-rounder Joshua Palmer also seemed to gain chemistry with QB Justin Herbert toward the end of the season, which accounts for another knock against Guyton's 2023 upside. Situated in one of the most explosive offenses in the league, Guyton could still yield some fantasy utility when extra snaps are available, but his otherwise consistent volume will remain an issue.
Despite no formal preseason, Guyton emerged toward the end of training camp to claim a hold on the team's No. 3 wideout job, which he'd never relinquish on his way to playing the 12th-most snaps of any wide receiver in 2020. That level of playing time never really translated into steady volume, however, as the 23-year-old was primarily used as a speedy decoy in order to open up underneath routes for Keenan Allen, Hunter Henry and Austin Ekeler. The end result was Guyton catching three or more passes just three times all season, with most of his 511 receiving yards coming toward the latter half of the 2020 campaign when a number of Chargers' pass catchers were injured. It remains to be seen if that speed role will still be a priority under new offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi, but any loss of playing time could easily be buoyed by seeing more consequential targets. The Chargers waived fellow wideout Tyron Johnson at the end of the preseason, but it now appears rookie third-round pick Josh Palmer is ahead of Guyton for the No. 3 spot at wide receiver.
