2019 Fantasy Outlook
Sternberger was the first skill player selected by the Packers in April's draft, going off the board with the 75th overall selection. He's likely to open the season with a minor role as long as veteran Jimmy Graham is healthy, but the Packers clearly like his prospects and Graham is entering the final year of his contract, so it's likely new coach Matt LaFleur will try to expand his role throughout the season. Sternberger is a receiver-first tight end, which is not ideal for securing snaps, but does help his long-term fantasy profile. With a quality rookie season, he could head into the 2020 campaign as the top tight end on the depth chart in Green Bay. Read Past Outlooks

Sternberger (ankle) will make his pro debut Sunday against the Chargers in L.A., Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Sternberger had a tough preseason, missing most of it due to a concussion, only to suffer an ankle injury in the finale when he emerged from the protocol. He subsequently was placed on IR, but with three weeks of practice under his belt, he was deemed ready to contribute again. Sternberger will be available behind Jimmy Graham and Marcedes Lewis with Robert Tonyan (hip) inactive.
