Past Fantasy Outlooks
2021
2020
Johnson thrived in his first season as a three-down starter in 2020, producing 124 tackles and leveraging that into a second-round tender as a restricted free agent. He'll likely function as Denver's top ILB in 2021, a role in which he should build on last year's production. Johnson was a standout four-year starter at Tennessee, so he has an extensive history of producing despite his relatively recent emergence in the NFL. He's not a blue-chip target but should be one of the more stable LB2 candidates in most IDP formats.
Johnson didn't log a defensive snap in 2019 until Week 5 against the Chargers, a game in which he got the start and racked up eight tackles, two passes defensed and an interception. He was a fixture in the middle of the defense from there on out. Johnson provides a perfect complement to Todd Davis' downhill play at middle linebacker and has the skill set to fill up the stat sheet. He should improve in Year 2 of coach Vic Fangio's system.
