2023 Fantasy Outlook
Boyle was brought over to help teach Nathaniel Hackett's offense to the Jets, but Aaron Rodgers' former backup in Green Bay is unlikely to see the field at all in 2023, and Boyle's even less likely to find success if he plays. He's winless in three NFL starts and has a career 3:8 TD:INT. Given Boyle's on-field resume, if Rodgers and Zach Wilson get hurt, the Jets may opt for outside help under center rather than give Boyle an extended look. Read Past Outlooks
Signs future deal with Houston
The Texans signed Boyle to a reserve/future contract Monday.
ANALYSIS
Boyle landed in Houston last month with a practice-squad deal following his departure from the Jets. In three games (two starts) with New York in 2023, he completed 62.3 percent of his 77 pass attempts for 360 yards, one touchdown and four interceptions, while absorbing nine sacks and fumbling twice. Boyle will look to make it to training camp with the Texans behind C.J. Stroud and Davis Mills.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Might hang onto starting job
Jets coach Robert Saleh indicated Monday he hasn't made a decision on whether Boyle, Trevor Siemian or Zach Wilson would be the team's starting quarterback in Week 14 against the Texans, Al Iannazzone of Newsday reports.
ANALYSIS
Boyle has started the last two games and not played well, throwing three interceptions against one touchdown, and he was replaced by an ineffective Siemian in last week's loss to the Falcons. Wilson has also struggled this season and got benched in Week 11. The Jets are scrambling just to keep their wild-card hopes alive and give Aaron Rodgers motivation to even attempt a miraculously early return from an Achilles injury, but the team doesn't appear to have any good options under center.

2018
Boyle is back with Detroit on another one-year deal after serving as Detroit's backup quarterback in 2021. While he didn't fare particularly well in his Lions preseason debut nor his three starts while filling in for Jared Goff, Boyle was hamstrung in a couple of those by the absences of T.J. Hockenson and/or D'Andre Swift, not to mention the fact that he was working with possibly the worst receiving corps in the league. With a revamped group of wide receivers and mostly everyone back to full health, Boyle would have been better equipped in Year 2 if called upon, but a disappointing preseason was followed by the Lions cutting him in favor of David Blough, who now will serve as the No. 2 QB to Goff.
