Injury Shoulder
2019 Fantasy Outlook
The 51st overall pick in last year's draft, Miller showed some sparks as a rookie while playing through a shoulder injury, scoring seven times on only 54 targets and making two plays of 40-plus yards. At 5-11, 190, Miller has only average size, and his 4.50 timed speed is similarly middle of the road. But he's athletic - 39-inch vertical - and a polished route runner who scored 32 TDs in his final 26 college games. Moreover, the situation for Miller in Chicago is good. Quarterback Mitchell Trubisky improved in Year 2, and coach Matt Nagy is one of the more innovative offensive minds in the league. There are a few mouths to feed in this offense - Allen Robinson returns as a low-end No. 1, Tarik Cohen is a weapon out of the backfield, TE Trey Burton saw 76 targets a year ago, and the speedy, 165-pound Taylor Gabriel gets plays called for him - but there is plenty of room for Miller to carve out a significant role in this high-powered attack. One other concern is the shoulder Miller dislocated five or six times last year and on which he had surgery in January. He didn't do much during the offseason program but received clearance for the start of training camp. Read Past Outlooks

Gets shoulder surgery again

Shoulder
December 31, 2019
The Bears announced Tuesday that Miller underwent surgery to address the left shoulder injury he suffered in the team's Week 17 win over the Vikings, Adam Hoge of WGN Radio 720 AM Chicago reports.
ANALYSIS
Miller picked up the injury while returning a kickoff, finishing the season finale with one catch for five yards. While Miller is expected to make a full recovery in advance of training camp, it's somewhat disconcerting that he's now required a pair of procedures on the same shoulder following both of his first two NFL seasons. Assuming the 2018 second-round pick bounces back from his latest surgery as anticipated, however, he should retain a regular role in three-receiver sets for the Bears next season.

2018 Fantasy Outlook
Taken with the 51st overall pick, Miller could get opportunities right out of the gate. Allen Robinson, who's returning from a torn ACL, is the team's No. 1, but after him only the perennially injured Kevin White and 165-pound Taylor Gabriel stand in Miller's way. Tailback Tarik Cohen functions as an extra receiver of sorts, too, but if Miller proves ready, he could wind up as Mitchell Trubisky's No. 2 target. At 5-11, 190, Miller has only average size, and his 4.50 40 run at his pro day was similarly middle of the road, but he's an explosive athlete (39-inch vertical jump) and a polished route runner who scored 32 TDs in his last 26 college games.
