2020 Fantasy Outlook
During the 2018 preseason, Wims made some noise and looked like a player who could be on his way to emerging into a fantasy factor. Unfortunately, when given multiple starts last year when Taylor Gabriel was injured, Wims was unable to make a major impact, but he did have a pair of 56-yard performances before ending the season with fewer than 30 yards in both of the last two games. That said, with 35-year-old Ted Ginn and 2020 fifth-round draft choice Darnell Mooney being his primary competition for the No. 3 receiver role, Wims could earn one more chance to develop into a reliable player. Wims isn't a player who should garner interest in fantasy drafts, but there's a chance that he emerges in his third NFL season, so he's someone to monitor throughout the preseason. Read Past Outlooks

Wims caught three passes for 23 yards in the Bears' 21-19 win over the Vikings in Week 17, and he ended the season with 18 receptions for 186 yards and one score.
ANALYSIS
Wims made six starts when Taylor Gabriel missed time with a pair of concussions, but Wims had just two games with more than 26 yards while failing to surpass 56 yards in any contest. However, he served as the third option in a low-volume passing attack, so his lack of production may have had much to do with the situation instead of his ability. He's signed through 2021, and he should have a chance to compete for a starting position opposite Allen Robinson next summer. Regardless, it's unlikely he'll be drafted as anything more than a depth option in 2020 drafts.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2019
2018
After being selected in the seventh round of the 2018 draft, Wims had an impressive preseason and ended up making four regular-season appearances. However, he was used as a reserve receiver, and he was only targeted five times, catching four of them for 32 yards. He finds himself in a similar position this year, but he now has to deal with Riley Ridley, who the Bears drafted in the fourth round this year. Expect Wims to battle for a roster spot, but it'll be tough for him to see much playing time as a backup on this crowded depth chart.
The Bears selected Wims in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL draft after he had the only productive year of his college career with 720 yards and seven touchdowns at Georgia in 2017. He'll be a project, as he was a high school basketball player who converted to football when attending junior college. On a crowded depth chart, he'll have his work cut out for him to make the opening-day roster, but if he fails to make the squad, he'd be an excellent candidate for the practice squad.
