2019 Fantasy Outlook
A second-round pick in 2017, Jones showed his upside early in his rookie season, tallying 12 tackles and two sacks in just his third career game. He has struggled to come close to that output since, averaging just 4.2 tackles in his last 26 games. The Packers signed fellow safety Adrian Amos to a multi-year contract during the offseason and spent a first-round pick on another safety, Darnell Savage, so Jones remains behind the eight ball in his third season. His current role would provide little fantasy value, so it's not too surprising that Jones skipped OTAs in May after reportedly requesting a trade. Read Past Outlooks

Illness
August 25, 2019
Jones (illness) was waived with a non-football illness designation Sunday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Demovsky, Jones has been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, something that can be treated with medication and won't keep him from playing. Once healthy, expect the 24-year-old to have suitors as a free agent.

2017
That the Packers finished the draft without selecting a safety seemingly locks Jones into a three-down role, in which case a big season could be on the horizon. Originally groomed as a nickel-specific sort of rover position in addition to strong safety, the Packers could see plenty of snaps with all of Jones, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix and Kentrell Brice on the field at once. With 71 tackles on 735 snaps last year, Jones would appear to be a triple-digit threat with a bit of luck.
Jones not only gives defensive coordinator Dom Capers a new weapon to deploy, but also bolsters the Packers' depth at safety, which is one of the best units in the NFL. While Jones will be listed as a safety, he has received plenty of praise for his blitzing ability, which should allow him to often play close to the line of scrimmage, a preferred spot to rack up the gold known as tackles in many IDP formats.
