ANALYSIS
Jackson is looking to latch on with a new team after he was released by Pittsburgh on March 10. The veteran cornerback played with Washington last season but spent much of the campaign on the IR due to a back injury. Jackson spent the first five seasons of his NFL career with the Bengals, though he missed his entire rookie year due to a torn pectoral muscle.

Jackson worked out with the Eagles on Tuesday, Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson was limited to only four games in 2022 due to a back issue, and he was ultimately released by the Steelers this spring. He's logged multiple tryouts since, including ones with the Giants and Ravens. The Eagles have surprisingly struggled in coverage early on this season due to multiple injuries and might have recently lost Avonte Maddox for the season due to a pectoral injury, making Jackson a good fit if his health checks out.

Formerly Cincinnati's No. 1 corner, Jackson had a rough first year in Washington after signing a three-year, $40.5 million deal last season. He missed five games and was part of a bottom-five pass defense, while his former team reached the Super Bowl. Jackson has never been great for IDP purposes as a cover corner, but he could bounce back for Washington's purposes in his age-29 season ahead.
Jackson suffered through a shoulder injury and a subsequent down season in 2019, allowing 39 receptions on 67 targets, according to Pro Football Focus. But most of the damage against Jackson was done in zone schemes - he was far better in man-to-man coverage. The Bengals overhauled much of their secondary in the offseason, parting ways with Dre Kirkpatrick and Darqueze Dennard while adding Trae Waynes, Mackensie Alexander and Vonn Bell. It's Jackson's walk-year, so the Bengals will have to decide whether to use part of their projected cap space (approximately $75 million) to extend him. He's still a top cover corner, though that rarely results in fantasy production - Jackson has only two career interceptions and one sack.
After missing his rookie season with a torn pectoral muscle, Jackson emerged as a potential star in 2017, though you couldn't necessarily tell by looking at his 27 tackles and one interception. However, if you dig a little deeper at the advanced metrics at Pro Football Focus, you can see just how effective he was in defending against the passing game. He led NFL corners in the lowest catch rate (34.9% on 43 targets), cover snaps per reception (26.4) and yards against per snap (0.38). Many of those ratings were of a historically good level. The only issue for us is that often the best cover corners aren't great fantasy investments, as we are limited to interceptions, sacks, tackles and scores, even in deep IDP leagues. Jackson simply isn't going to get targeted a lot as the word starts to get out how effective he is.
Jackson was selected with the Bengals' first-round pick, 24th overall, in the 2016 NFL Draft. Some experts considered Jackson to be the second-best corner in the draft, standing six feet tall with a blazing 4.37 40-time. A shutdown corner in college, Jackson allowed only 40 percent of the passes thrown in his direction to result in completions the past two seasons at Houston. He might have pushed Dre Kirkpatrick for a starting job, but Jackson is now expected to miss most or all of his rookie season after suffering a torn pectoral during training camp.
