Dealing with injury
SFree Agent
Undisclosed
March 17, 2022
Washington have released Everett (undisclosed) with a non-football injury designation, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Everett being cut by the Commanders comes with multiple layers of context. Not only is the team in need of more cap space, but Everett is also injured, and facing offseason legal issues that could impact his availability for 2022, if not his NFL career. It may be multiple months until clarity on Everett's situation arrives.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2021
2018
Everett has started just 17 of 75 games in his six seasons with Washington, but he did get six of those starts last year. However, he'll likely slide back to a depth role in 2021, as the team gets Landon Collins back from last year's season-ending Achilles tear.
Everett needs to hold off rookie fourth-round pick Troy Apke, but a breakout IDP season could be in store if the veteran secures a three-down role. Everett was a three-down player for the last six weeks of last year, totaling 44 tackles in that span. A triple-digit tackle pace is unlikely over 16 games, but holding it over a six-game stretch is a nice start. Heading into his fourth year in the Washington system, Everett is a fine breakout candidate who shouldn't cost much in drafts.
