DraftKings LoL: Saturday LCS Breakdown

This article is part of our DraftKings League of Legends series.

Games EDT

  • 4:00 p.m. Counter Logic Gaming vs. Dignitas
  • 4:50 p.m Evil Geniuses vs. Cloud9
  • 5:40 p.m. FlyQuest vs. Team SoloMid
  • 6:30 p.m. Golden Guardians vs. Immortals

CLG vs. DIG

CLG come into this match at a solid 5-5, currently fourth place in the standings, which would have been a shocker to me if you told me before the start of the split. CLG's path to victory is very simple and it all starts in the draft phase with banning Azir for Fenix. If the coaches do their job and ban Azir, there won't be many options left for Fenix to play in the mid lane. Looking at CLG, Stixxay leads the team in kills with (41) with Pobelter at (33) kills. Pobelter should have an easy matchup in the mid lane if Azir is banned. Talking kill participation, Stixxay comes up again along with his counterpart in the bot lane Smoothie, who sits at a 74 percent in terms of kill percentage.

Prediction to Win: Counter Logic Gaming

Players to Target: Stixxay ($8,200), Pobelter ($7,800) Smoothie ($5,600)

 EG vs. C9

The return of Goldenglue didn't turn out the way that Evil Geniuses wanted Friday against Team Liquid. Goldenglue was outclassed in the mid lane against Jensen, trailing by thirty minions most of the game and missing key skillshots like shockwave that could have turned the game if landed correctly. Saturday he comes into a much harder matchup against Nisqy and I expect the same results as

Goldenglue was outclassed in the mid lane against Jensen, trailing by thirty minions most of the game and missing key skillshots like shockwave that could have turned the game if landed correctly. Saturday he comes into a much harder matchup against Nisqy and I expect the same results as in the Team Liquid game, if not worse. This game heavily favors Cloud9 and will be a good fantasy scorer if Evil Geniuses don't run away from engages and instead tries to be proactive. If you're looking for a one-off team slot on the slate, C9 team is a safe pick.

Prediction to Win: Cloud9

C9 Players to Target: Everyone on C9

FLY vs. TSM

Team SoloMid comes into Saturday after a very close game against 100 Thieves which was a bit surprising since the veterans of TSM should have handled 100 Thieves easily. FLY is on a three-game losing streak, prompting a change at ADC bringing back WildTurtle which could revitalize this team. Doublelift leads the team in kills this Summer Split (51) with Bjergsen coming in second (40) while also being involved in most of the teamfights, sitting at 73 percent kill participation. PowerOfEvil on FLY is the kill leader with 47 kills and a solid 70 percent kill participation for the 2020 Summer Split. Santorin should also be in any FLY stacks because of his kill participation alone, which sits at 80 percent, but to make things even better Santorin also holds 34 kills this split. This is one of the more even matches on the slate, but the TSM veterans should be able to pick up the win if the game is played cleanly.

Prediction to Win: Team SoloMid

TSM Players to Target: Bjergsen ($7,400), Doublelift ($7,600)

FLY Players to Target: PowerOfEvil ($7,200), Santorin ($6,600)

GG vs. IMT

Golden Guardians comes into this match sitting at the edge of the playoff race at 7th place so every game here to the rest of the season is critical for the Golden Guardians. This is one where they need to win against a struggling Immortals team trying to find an identity of how to play the game. Golden Guardians have a clear advantage in the jungle with Closer who is performing well this summer with (28) kills and a 74 percent kill participation which is second on the team. Closer does have the better matchup in the Jungle but the leader of the team is FBI with (35) kills and a 76 percent kill participation. In the end Golden Guardians should have an easy matchup today that is critical to the playoff race.

Prediction to Win: Golden Guardians

Players to Target: Closer ($6,400), FBI ($7,200)
