DraftKings LoL: Saturday LPL/LCK Breakdown

This article is part of our DraftKings League of Legends series.

Games (EDT)

  • 4:00 a.m. T1 vs. Hanwha Life Esports
  • 5:00 a.m. Vici Gaming vs. Oh My God
  • 6:50 a.m. Edward Gaming vs. FunPlus Phoenix
  • 7:00 a.m. DragonX vs Gen.G

T1 vs. HLE

Our first series Saturday is a very one-sided matchup with T1 going up against Hanwha Life Esports. T1 is the fourth best team in the LCK currently going up against the second to last in the LCK. T1 is expected to outclass HLE in every way on the Rift and should result in some fast matches. Everyone on T1 is viable in this position but if you want some the stars of T1 look no further then Teddy, who is leading the team in kills this Summer with 109 and also leads the team in kill participation with 69 percent. Canna is also a great choice for a top lane one off since he's second highest in kill share with a 60 percent kill participation. T1 should have no problem sweeping HLE.

Prediction to Win: T1 2-0

T1 Players to Target: Everyone on T1

VG vs. OMG

Vici Gaming come into Saturday still trying to figure out their jungle situation. Leyan would usually be the starter and then Aix would come in if he had a bad Game 1, but for Saturday Aix gets the Game 1 start. There is some sub risk with this if OMG come out and beat Vici Gaming pretty badly, but I don't see VG losing to OMG. The bot lane

VG vs. OMG

Leyan would usually be the starter and then Aix would come in if he had a bad Game 1, but for Saturday Aix gets the Game 1 start. There is some sub risk with this if OMG come out and beat Vici Gaming pretty badly, but I don't see VG losing to OMG. The bot lane of OMG has been absolutely horrible and they are also switching the support, starting with Sora in Game 1. VG have a solid advantage in all lanes except for maybe the mid lane which would be OMG's path to victory to enable Icon. With the bot lane having a huge advantage, look to add iBoy and Maestro into your VG stacks Saturday.

Prediction to Win: VG 2-1

VG Players to Target: iBoy ($7,800) Maestro ($5,000)

EDG vs. FPX

FunPlus Phoenix looked like a whole new team with GimGoon in the lineup, enabling their carries to, well, carry the team to a victory while GimGoon plays a more supportive role in the top lane. I firmly believe the lineup with GimGoon is the way FPX should go for the rest of the split. Doinb and LWX are very close in kills this season with only five separating them, so either of those two options are great to have in your lineup. The kill participation between them is also above 70 percent, so if you're looking for a nice 2v2 in contests consider getting Doinb and LWX in your matchups. FPX needs to continue the win streak to look like a strong contender going into playoffs.

Prediction to Win: FPX 2-0

FPX Players to Target: Everyone on FPX

DRX vs. GEN

Our last series of the morning feature two of the top teams in the LCK, and generally when this happens the game turns into a more macro matchup, instead of tons of kills like what tends to happen when the top-tier teams play lower-tiered teams. With playoffs around the corner both of these teams will be playing cautious since this game is pivotal for seeding later on. Gen.G is very cheap Saturday in terms of pricing and will garner some shares in big contests. The top target for one-off in a lineup would be Ruler with 132 kills and a 72 percent kill participation. A note of caution with the GEN support since they are always a risk for a swap, but I do expect Life to be playing throughout the series. If you love esports this will be the marquee match on the slate to watch.

Prediction to Win: GEN 2-1

GEN Players to Target: Everyone on GEN
