Series: Caribbean Premier League

Venue: Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados

Date: September 24, 2019

Time: 3:30 a.m. IST

Preview:

Despite having a number of match-winners, Jamaica have been unable to find form this CPL 2019, as they are currently at the bottom of the table. They will take on Barbados, who are fourth currently, with two wins in five games. They did lose their last encounter against Guyana, but will fancy their chances against a low-on-confidence Jamaica side.

Weather Conditions: There is no chance of rain for match day, and we should be in for a full forty over game. Temperatures will hover around 31-degree Celsius with humidity in the mid-seventies.

Pitch Conditions: Only one game has been held here thus far, when Barbados took on Guyana. It was not the easiest track to bat on, with the home team managing just over 138 in their first innings. Rain affected the proceedings later on, with Guyana winning eventually by DLS.

Barbados Tridents:

The Barbados team, despite their loss in the last game, are unlikely to be changed for the upcoming match. There is no update yet on Shai Hope's availability after he suffered from a hand injury, and it is assumed that he will once again miss the encounter.

Jamaica Tallawahs:

Jamaica have managed just one win in their seven games thus far, and have a faint chance of progressing to the semis - if they manage to win their remaining three encounters. Andre Russell has returned to the side after he was hit on the hit by a delivery earlier, and the team will rely on his exploits to see them through.

Chris Gayle, Dwayne Smith, Chadwick Walton (c), Jade Dernbach, Andre Russell, Ramaal Lewis, Imran Khan, Glenn Phillips (wk), Zahir Khan, Shamar Springer, Javelle Glen

Top picks:

Wicket-keeper: Glenn Phillips (9 credits)

Phillips started the tournament with two low scores, but has made 275 runs in his last five innings, though his efforts have not been enough to turn around his side's fortunes. He is coming off a fine 87 against Patriots, and his form at the top will be crucial if the Tallawahs have any hopes of qualifying for the top four.

Batsman: Chris Gayle (10.5 credits)

After his sensational 116, Gayle has not fired in the CPL, but should be a must-have in the Dream11 team as he is capable of springing a surprise when least expected. Despite being 40 years of age, Gayle has plenty of firepower, and his team will want him to come out all guns blazing in the crucial match.

All-rounder: Jason Holder (9.5 credits)

Though Holder has not got many opportunities with the bat this season, he has been among the wickets. The right-arm seamer has seven wickets in five games and has kept things tight as well. He is vastly experienced as well, and can be counted on to get quick points in the Dream11 side.

Bowler: Sandeep Lamichhane (9 credits)

The leg-break bowler has established himself as one of the best T20 bowlers around the world. The Nepali picked up three wickets in his second CPL game this season, and since then has got a wicket in all the following matches. He keeps things tight as well, and his accuracy can further put the rivals under pressure.

Captain: Glenn Phillips, Sandeep Lamichhane
