13th Match Preview: Hobart Hurricanes vs. Perth Scorchers

Hobart Hurricanes and Perth Scorchers will face each other in the 13th match of the Big Bash League (BBL) in Launceston on Sunday. The game will be an interesting one as the team on the top of the table will play against one of the team in the lower half of the league. In their last match, Hobart registered an impressive seven-wicket win against Sydney Thunders, courtesy of Mathew Wade's brilliant knock.

With three wins out of three, there are no major changes expected for the game on Sunday, which means the home side will be depending on the likes of captain Wade, left-handed opener D'Arcy Short and veteran middle-order batsman George Bailey to score bulk of the runs, whereas in the bowling department, the onus will be on the likes of pacers Jofra Archer, James Faulkner and veteran off-spinner Johan Botha to provide timely breakthroughs.

On the other hand, Scorchers will also come in the match full of confidence as well after securing their first win in the tournament in their previous fixture against Adelaide Strikers. In the batting department, Scorchers will be depending on veteran opener Michael Klinger, captain Ashton Turner and middle-order batsman Hilton Cartwright to score bulk of the runs, whereas in the bowling department, the onus will be on the five-man pace-attack to provide timely breakthroughs. In the last five fixtures between both teams, Scorchers clearly have an edge as they emerged victorious four times.

Key Players:

Cameron Bancroft – 8.5 Cr

First in the list of key players features Perth Scorchers' Cameron Bancroft. The 26-year-old will be playing in a first major tournament after receiving a nine-month ban for his role in the infamous ball-tampering scandal, and therefore, he will be eager to start fresh and hungry to show the selectors that he can still play at the top level. Therefore, Bancroft, who is valued at 8.5 Cr, might be a decent pick for your team for the Sunday's match. Till now, Bancroft has played 25 T20s, where he has scored 502 runs at an average of 33.46 and strike-rate of 128.71.

Mathew Wade – 9 Cr

Second in the list of key players features Hobart Hurricanes' captain Mathew Wade. The wicket-keeper batsman is in brilliant form with the bat and has scored back-to-back half-centuries in the last two matches. In the team's previous outing, Wade played a match-winning knock of 85 and guided Hurricanes home for an impressive win. Therefore, Wade, who is valued at 9 Cr, is the player to have in your team for the match on Sunday.

Jason Behrendorff – 8.5 Cr

Last in the list of key players features Perth Scorchers' Jason Behrendorff. The right-arm pacer is in great form with the ball in hand and is currently the leading wicket-taker for the franchise with six scalps in three matches. In the team's last game, Behrendorff claimed figures of 2-16 and played an important role in the Hurricanes win. Therefore, Behrendorff, who is valued at 8.5 Cr, might prove to be a good acquisition for your team. Till now, the New South Wales-born fast-bowler has played in 46 T20s, where he has 64 wickets to his name.
