Ficken's 2012 field goal percentage (66.7) is quite bad, but there's some reason for optimism with Ficken given that his poor percentage is mostly due to one game. Ficken missed four field goals against Virginia in Week 2, but from that point he went 13-of-16 on field goals. If Penn State gets its quarterback situation settled, the talented running backs and pass catchers on the team should give Ficken a good number of opportunities.
