McCoy placed his name in the NCAA's transfer portal Monday, 247Sports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
McCoy appeared in each of Southern Mississippi's first three games of 2020, recording two receptions for 43 yards across four targets. With head coach Jay Hopson choosing to resign earlier this month, McCoy may simply want to try his luck at a different school before a new coaching staff presumably takes over in 2020. By playing in four games or fewer, McCoy will qualify for a redshirt that would allow him to play out his final year of eligibility elsewhere in 2021.
