Eligible to play in 2019
August 28, 2019
Coach James Franklin confirmed Tuesday that Stout, a transfer from Virginia Tech, will be eligible to compete immediately for Penn State, Rich Scarcella of the Reading Eagle reports.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear if Stout was granted a waiver from the NCAA or if he had already secured his undergraduate degree before signing with Penn State, but he'll be available to suit up in Saturday's season opener versus Idaho in any case. Stout will serve as the Nittany Lions' kickoff specialist and the top backup to placekicker Jake Pinegar.
