Hauls in long catch and run
October 21, 2019
Mabry had one reception for 51 yards as Maryland lost 34-28 to Indiana on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Mabry had a long catch and run in the closing minute of the third quarter and was taken down at the one-yard line as his large 6'4" frame was so close to the promised land. It didn't matter much anyway as Javon Leake punched it in on the following play to bring the Terrapins within three points. Mabry has had more than two catches and 24 yards just once this season as he continues to be the second tight end option behind Chigoziem Okonkwo. Mabry has scored three touchdowns this season but has not found the endzone since Week 3. He will look to change the script this Saturday as the Terps look to end Minnesota's undefeated season.

2018 Fantasy Outlook
Mabry struggled to put up productive numbers in 2017 as he logged 24 catches for 242 yards and just one score. He faded significantly down the stretch, recording six grabs for 34 yards over his last three games of the season as receiver Anthony Johnson exploded. He’ll begin the upcoming campaign as the No. 1 tight end, although it’s unclear how much damage Mabry will manage to do, as he’ll compete with wideouts like Johnson, KJ Osborn and graduate transfer George Rushing for targets. Despite this, Mabry figures to benefit from the Bulls’ prevalent air attack (52.01 pass play percentage, 300.5 passing yards per game) so he certainly should garner some fantasy consideration, although he’ll need to develop a nose for the end zone to become a top-end option at tight end.
