Corey Sutton
Questionable
Injury Knee
2019 Fantasy Outlook
Sutton’s chemistry with quarterback Zac Smith led to a breakout 2018 season and there’s more in store for 2019. He had a Sun Belt-leading 10 touchdowns and averaged 9.9 yards per target while drawing 27 percent of the Mountaineers’ targets -- nearly double of any other Appalachian State receiver. Sutton’s role isn’t going anywhere and at 6-foot-3, 205 pounds, he will present a mismatch to Sun Belt corners on upwards of 100 targets. Read Past Outlooks
Suffers torn ACL in win
November 24, 2019
Sutton announced via his Twitter on Sunday that he tore his ACL in the game against Texas State over the weekend and will be forced to miss the remainder of the season. He finished the game with two catches for 45 yards and a touchdown before departing.
ANALYSIS
Sutton's injury is devastating for a team that has their sights on a conference championship and then a bowl game victory to close out the 2019 season. The junior receiver took a blindside hit after making a reception during the second quarter and immediately went down grabbing his left knee. Sutton finished the season leading the team with 601 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. He will now focus on rehabbing and returning for one last ride during his senior year in 2020.
