Ervin steps in for senior De'Leon Eskridge, who rushed for over 1,000 yards and 11 touchdowns last season. The junior has limited experience (45 attempts, 205 yards) but posted a 4.6 yards per carry average last season in the Spartans' pass-heavy offense. His role could increase under the new coaching staff but it is likely the running game will take a backseat to David Fales and the air attack in 2013.
