Past Fantasy Outlooks
2013
2012
In his first season as the full-time starter, Driskel managed the offense well but failed to live up to the hype he received coming out of high school as the nation's top overall quarterback recruit. Driskel led the team to an 11-2 record, passing for 1,646 yards and 12 touchdowns and rushing for an additional 408 yards and four scores. However, the Gators ranked 118th in the FBS in passing yards per game. Driskel won't put up huge numbers in Will Muschamp's offense, but with another year of experience, expect his production to increase in 2013.
Driskel enters his sophomore season with an opportunity to compete for the starting quarterback job in Gainesville. To win the job, he'll have to take it from fellow sophomore Jacoby Brissett. Neither Driskel nor Brissett passed particularly well last season, completing only 47.1 percent and 46.2 percent of their passes, respectively. However, those numbers were in small sample sizes playing behind 2011 starter John Brantley. Brissett is known a bit more for his passing, but Driskel is known as more of a runner. Monitor the competition in camp.
