Waterman committed to Detroit on Tuesday, joining the program as a transfer from Niagara, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
The 6-foot-11, 210-pound forward is expected to slide into the Detroit frontcourt rotation in 2020-21 after averaging 7.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 0.9 assists and 0.9 treys in 22.3 minutes per game over his seven appearances (five starts) with Niagara as a true freshman last season. Since his final appearance came Dec. 8 before he sustained a season-ending ankle injury, Waterman should have a good chance at earning eligibility at Detroit at some point before the conference portion of the Titans' 2020-21 schedule. It's also possible that Waterman applies for a waiver that would allow him to compete immediately for Detroit.
