Preparing to transfer
Monroe entered the NCAA's transfer portal Monday and is expected to move on from Providence, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.
ANALYSIS
He becomes the second Friars player to enter the portal since the team bowed out in the first round of the Big East Tournament last week, joining Greg Gantt. It's unclear whether the 6-foot-8 forward is leaving Providence with his degree, but he should be able to compete at his next stop if the NCAA passes a rule granting immediate eligibility for first-time transfers. As a junior this past season, Monroe appeared in 14 games and averaged 1.1 points and 0.7 rebounds in 5.9 minutes.
