Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary

Jahmi'us Ramsey was born June 9, 2001in Arlington, Texas. He is the son of Avery Ramsey and Falisha Bryant. He has one sibling, brother Corinthian who played basketball at Tarleton State. Ramsey started his high school career at Mansfield Summit High School in his hometown of Arlington. Before his junior year, he transferred to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Then, before his senior season, he transferred to Duncanville High School back in Texas. With Duncanville, he averaged 21 points and six rebounds per game and led the team to a Class 6A state championship. The shooting guard then played college basketball at Texas Tech for one season before making himself eligible for the 2020 NBA Draft. Fans can follow the Texas native on Twitter @newanimprovedJR. Texas Tech endured significant losses from the team that went to the 2019 National Championship game, but luckily Ramsey was able to step in and fill many of those voids. He started 27 games for the Red Raiders, finishing fifth in the Big-12 in scoring (15.0 PPG) and fourth in effective field-goal percentage (.531). Capable of playing all backcourt positions, Ramsey was an effective scorer both inside and out. He was second on his team with 60 three-pointers made, shooting 42.6 percent from beyond the arc on the year. Ramsey had respectable marks in other categories as well, producing 4.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.3 steals. Texas Tech would have made the NCAA Tournament with a NET rating of 22, and although the event was canceled, Ramsey was recognized for multiple individual accolades at the conclusion of the season. He was named the Big 12 Rookie of the Year, in addition to earning first-team All-Freshman and second-team All-Conference honors.

Ramsey played 30 minutes Sunday during the Blue's 114-107 playoff win versus Stockton and compiled 29 points (11-17 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 1-2 FT), eight rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block.

Ramsey led the Blue in points scored despite coming off the bench, in addition to shooting an efficient 64.7 percent from the floor. The 2020 second-round pick will look to build off this strong performance in the championship series versus Maine.
